PLANTINGS
JUICY FRUIT
It’s still not too late to plant
strawberries. Get going!
Strawberry is a perennial fruit-bearing plant. Though it’s
best to plant in late December, you can also plant in
early January. However, keep them in a sheltered place.
TO GROW:
Strawberries can be grown
in
a special urn,
hanging baskets, window boxes, or Styrofoam boxes.
SOIL:
The soil has to be very porous. For home
growing, use Coco peat soil.
NUTRITION:
Water regularly and also feed them with
dissolvable NPK once a week. If you are planting in a
basket, pinch off the runners and the first round
of flowers. Let fruit form by the beginning of February.
LONG-TERM CARE:
Once the fruit stops forming,
transfer to a cooler place. In November, pull out
the plants, remove dead leaves, and give it a
regularfeed.Youwillhavefruitsagain.
